Emily and Zach – Our Love Story at Sleepy Hollow Inn in Huntington, Vermont!

Zach and I met in middle school but didn’t really know each other until some of our friends started dating. We would always hang out with them so we became better friends. We “officially ” started dating during Junior year of high school. We went to all of our high school winter balls and proms together. Since we were friends first, we don’t really remember our official first date but we think it might have been to the grocery store.

For the proposal, Zach took me out for dinner downtown and then asked if I wanted to go down to the waterfront (in the snow). We looked out onto the water for a bit and then he said he wanted to take my picture. I knew then that something was going to happen since he NEVER takes photos.  I turned around and he was down on one knee in a foot of snow with a ring and asked me to marry him.

Zach and I Nordic skied at Sleepy Hollow in high school as part of the school team. Until this year, we hadn’t seen the space without snow.

We wrote a song to ask our friend Greg to officiate the wedding and he gladly accepted. The best man and I have been friends (and neighbors) since kindergarten.
The maid of honor and I went to middle school together.  She also went to Elementary school with Zach. All of our groomsmen and bridesmaids went to high school with us.

We worked on our Backstreet Boys entrance dance for about 3 months before the wedding.

We go to trivia pretty regularly at Mill River Brewery which is how we found our caterer.

All of our wedding party and lots of family members helped us set everything up, we couldn’t have done it without them! Friends and family members made cupcakes for us!

Geoff and Wendy were awesome! So easy to work with and I loved that they knew all the right poses for us! Thank you for everything! We will be able to relive this day for the rest of our lives!

Geoff and Wendy are the owners of Portrait Gallery. Located in South Burlington, Vermont. Specializing in outdoor Vermont weddings photographs.
