Laura and Tom – Our Love Story at the Barn At Smugglers Notch in Jeffersonville, Vermont!
Tom and I met at college! We both attended Cornell University in Ithaca, NY and met through marching band. Tom played baritone saxophone and I played trumpet. Our first real time meeting each other was when we were both running a little late to practice and chatted on the way.
Our first date was in New York City while we were on winter break during our first year of college. Tom came to visit me (I grew up in New Jersey and Tom is from upstate New York) and we decided to go into the city for a day. We saw “Anything Goes” on Broadway, Rockefeller Christmas Tree, and went to Ripley’s Believe It Or Not, among many other things!
We got married on May 11 at the Barn at Smugglers Notch in Jeffersonville, Vermont. What a great vista and venue for a Vermont wedding!
We also want to thank some of our great vendors!
- Flowers were by M’s Wedding Flowers
- Food was by Cast Iron Catering
- Our DJ was C-Note Entertainment
- Geoff from Portrait Gallery was our photographer
For the proposal, I took Laura on a treasure hunt that led her around my home town (she had visited so she knew most of the places), giving her clues that led to the next place. Finally I gave her a clue that told her I’d had the prize with me the whole time and proposed! She said yes!!
Geoffrey was great to work with and have around on our wedding day! He was very organized and professional, and took so many beautiful shots. We were so happy he was able to coordinate with us from a distance since we live out of state. We did get to meet up with him a couple days prior to the wedding to go over all the final details and scheduling, and everything went very smoothly the day of. He was very knowledgeable of our venue and brought us to a number of scenic nearby locations for pictures.
