How We Met:

We met at a wedding in Georgia. He’s friends with the groom who he went to high school in NC with, I’m friends with the bride who I grew up riding horses with in NJ. We ended up sitting next to each other on the bus ride from the hotels to the wedding venue and the rest is history! He came up to VT to visit 2 weeks later since at that point he was still living in NC. about 3 months after that he and his dog Hazel made the official move up to VT!

Proposal:

We set out for an early morning snow shoe up Pico which had been on our bucket list for that winter. Once we got to the top I went inside the hut to warm up and put my ski boots on and came back out to Mason on one knee with a ring and bottle of champagne and the beautiful Killington mountain in the background. After we had a few sips of champagne, we strapped on our skis and skied back down to share the big news with our families

Why Topnotch:

Finding a venue was actually kind of a struggle during the pandemic since no one knew what the future was going to look like and so many weddings from the prior summer were moved to the summer we planned to get married in. Fortunately Topnotch had some dates available so we picked 7/9/21 in hopes we’d be able to celebrate safely with our friends and family. I loved Topnotch because of the beautiful flower gardens and the views of the mountains and horse pastures. We also wanted to make our wedding a weekend experience for our guest who were traveling from far away. Topnotch was perfect for that with the pools and restaurants for guests to enjoy throughout the rest of the weekend.
