Backlit lighting in photography occurs when the light source is positioned behind the subject, creating a dramatic effect that highlights the contours and edges of the subject. This technique is often used to emphasize shapes and silhouettes, resulting in striking and artistic images. By placing the light source behind the subject, the photographer allows the light to shine through, creating a glow or halo effect around the subject, which adds a sense of depth and mystery.

One of the most compelling aspects of backlit photography is its ability to evoke emotion and intrigue. By playing with light and shadow, photographers can transform ordinary scenes into visually captivating works of art. Whether capturing a sunset or a portrait, backlit lighting can turn a simple moment into an unforgettable image that draws the viewer’s eye and stirs their imagination.

Simple to do! Using a flash trigger on the camera, it activates a radio controlled flash behind the subject. The camera is on a tripod to assure sharpness.
