Real Vermont Weddings & MORE!

Highs and Lows of wedding photography

Sometimes the coolest photos are taken at unusual angles. I would guess that over 90% of all photos are captured at eye-level. Not that there is anything wrong with that, of course. But I might suggest trying something different. Here are two alternatives; 1-Shoot from above. The top photo below was taken with a camera mounted on a Monopod (my wife calls it camera on a stick). A remote triggering device allows us to fire the camera when it is 4 feet above our head. I usually set the...

Save The Date Cards and more!

Congratulations! You are getting married! Let the world know about your upcoming plans with a Save The Date card. A card with a photo, and perhaps some minor details, is great way to let your soon-to-be entourage plan for your date. Many local photo labs offer designs to choose from, or you can go online to places like Snapfish or Shutterfly. Both offer good quality, at reasonable prices, with a fast turnaround. Once at your wedding, another idea that is very popular is a take home card showing...

Everyone wins! Photo Tip: Use a tripod if possible. If not, be sure to turn your ISO up. Change...

Flower petals make great photos!

Ask your florist for some extra pedals that you can use for photos. Real or fake work equally well. Then have a someone off-camera toss them over the bride and groom. The obvious choice would be the flowergirl, if you have one, but she may not be tall enough. If it is windy toss them into the wind so that they fly past the bride and groom. Have enough for quite a few photos as the petals will not look good in every photo. Instant glamour! Photos taken at...
